Access a Mentor
Developing and improving your small export business can be a tough and lonely thing for any person, as very few people have all the knowledge and expertise on call to maximise their business opportunities as they arise.
The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) and the Small Business Centre network offer a volunteer mentor service to assist small business operators to gain access to a person with sound business experience who can listen, communicate effectively and guide you in your export development.
A mentor is an “experienced or trusted counsellor” who offers knowledge, insight, perspective and wisdom gained from their own experiences.
Mentors are not business advisers or consultants. The fundamental difference between a business adviser or consultant and a business mentor is that the adviser will work to find a solution for the client, whereas the business mentor provides a different point of view and acts as a referral point, encouraging the client to assess and explore options, develop new skills and make informed decisions.
